Classes continued...

So we haven't much time to explore the area of Adelaide much lately due to pesky classes. We have made a few trips to the local mall to pick up groceries and apply for jobs. Our most success has been people telling us they have casual employment but are unable to give us a job because they do not have enough hours for us to work. This was at a shoe store that sold primarily women's shoes. We are now applying online at grocery stores and some of the larger chain stores, hopefully this goes a little better. To get to work we planned on buying bicycles, so we went searching online and in newspapers. I had contacted this one lady about purchasing a used mountain bike and had set up a day that I would meet with her to see the bike and possibly purchase it. Well I didn't want to go by myself so I asked Stick to walk with me to a nearby neighborhood which is about 15 minutes away by walk. When I got to the area I called the lady and she answered with an Asian accent. I started by introducing myself and had mentioned that she told me to come visit today to look at the bike. When I mentioned the bike she said, "I solt da bike." my response to this was "What, you told me to come look at it today" and she quickly responded with "I sowwy da bike is solt." So we went walking home bikeless, but we had a nice walk and got to see some new parts of the town. Besides being bikeless and jobless we have more school work piling on. Tomorrow I will be going to the library to hopefully knock out a few assignments and papers due in a few weeks (notice I said hopefully, I still have a week until the first paper is due). Overall I am still content with living in Adelaide I only wish we had a more convenient way of traveling a.k.a. a car or bicycle, oh and I also wish it would stop raining and warm up a little. Until later Ta.

Hey Jeff! It's fun to read about your adventures in Australia. I hope that you can find a job you like, but I can't quite see you selling women's shoes. That "lady" with the bike was no lady. How could she sell "da bike" to someone else??? "Sowwy" doesn't cut it!
Take care and have fun. Ta to you too.
