An afternoon in Glenelg
We had wanted to visit Glenelg for quite a while now, because people would ask us have you been to Jetty Road or have you visited Glenelg? Our answer was always no which was usually followed by a sigh from the other person and an explanation of why we have to go to see it. So we hopped on the bus and headed for Glenelg which is about a 15 to 20 minute ride from Flinders Uni. Stick and I were to meet up with Molly and Elaine who had headed down earlier in the day. Upon arrival we met up with them and started to stroll around Glenelg. The town is a beach town and most business is focused on providing luxuries for the area. When I mean luxuries I really mean Ice Cream, there are ice cream parlors all over the street, there were probably about 10 different places to get a cold treat all within a 5 minute walk. Like people were telling us, the area is very scenic and remember this is only winter. I'm sure in summer the area gets pretty packed and the beaches scattered with towels and umbrellas. We did a wee little bit of shopping in the area at souvenir stores to get some small Australian trinkets. If you look at the pictures you will see some boats (yachts) and then some pictures of rocks, the rocks were the breakers to protect the boats. The rocks were a nice resting place for us where we took some pictures and played around in the sand. On the days closing our friend Abby (not the koala) came to Glenelg to hang out with us and try finding a pub with a live band. We were unsuccessful with that search and decided to call it an early night and head for Uni.
